Class One: (5767) Inspiration and information to improve your davening. Start with the first step – Modeh Ani. This class includes a wide range of sources and touches on many aspects of Modeh Ani – when was it written and by whom, what preceded it, different opinions on how it should be carried out, the Chassidus of Modeh Ani and more.
Class Two: (5780/ 2019) To the Bochurim, inspiration and overview. Mode Ani is very personal. It is Yechida It is paralleled by the idea of וישכם לבן בבקר a moment straight from heaven to us, for an instant. The idea of מודה אני of a lifetime.
Class Three: Wednesday 22 Elul 5773/ August 28 2013. (Machon Chana). Mode’ Ani is from the Seder HaYom, which is only a few hundred years old. It was introduced (simply) because Yidden could no longer say Elokai Neshama (a Bracha) in bed, so this was added. There is (of course) the much deeper idea of Mode’ Ani touching the very essence of humanity. The MaHaRiD interprets the words. At the end of the class several practical questions are asked.
