Hanosein Lasechvi Vina… Class One. Wednesday 24 Kislev 5774/ Nov. 27 2013. The idea that we open these blessings by thanking Hashem for the rooster’s wisdom seems odd. What is the big deal? 1) This is about being in control of time even as we sleep which God created the rooster to help with. 2) The idea that even in darkness there is order that the rooster senses. 3) The idea of elevating the night and bringing light into it.

Hanosein Lasechvi Vina… Class Two. Wednesday 30 Kislev 5774/ Dec. 04 2013. This second class on this Bracha is supplemental. It involves two ideas: 1) The Sechvi has Bina and the Person who separates Shabbos from the weekdays (Havdala) has Da’as, 2) The text of the Bracha.
