Class Four. Page 129-130. Simcha even for the imperfect because Hashem doesn’t throw anyone away. Example: Sicha of Purim 5751 ובכן אבוא אל המלך אשר לא כדת.
Class Five. Page 130. Four categories of שמחה: A) עבדו את השם בשמחה. This Joy is (only) an aspect in the עבודה life of every Jew. B) מועדים בשמחה. This Joy is a Mitzvah onto itself but it only applies on Yom Tov (=it is linked to another Mitzvah). 3) משנכנס אדר מרבים בשמחה. This Joy is linked to no (other) Mitzvah it is pure Simcha. 4) חייב איניש לבסומי בפוריא עד דלא ידע בין ברוך מרדכי לארור המן. Out of one’s mind. There’s a fifth idea in the Rebbe’s Torah (not mentioned here): שמחה בטהרתה also connected to the רמ”א בסוף או”ח: טוב לב משתה תמיד.
Class Six. Page 130-131. Why and in what ways is the Joy of Purim higher than the Joy of all of Adar; and why it must be to the point of עד דלא ידע.
Class Seven. Page 131-2. There are things in Yiddishkeit that happen only without דעת and he gives the two examples: 1) שכחה cannot be done with intent. 2) Becoming a נשי”א must happen to a בורח מן הכבוד so it cannot be intentional. עד דלא ידע is above the no דעת of these also, as it leaves no דעת in any area at all.
Class Eight. Page 132-3. Yom Kippur is also above דעת as represented by the גורל which means מסירת נפש there also but it has some “hold” on reason- the fact that we do it by separation from worldly things. Purim we had the same מסירת נפש (not for a day but for eleven months) and it is celebrated as the מסירת נפש was performed- as they lived their regular lives. [NOTE: who were the ורבים מעמי הארץ מתיהדים כי נפל פחד מרדכי עליהם].
