Under the surface however, Yitzchok’s connection to Aisav is limitless (he was a Jew, only a sinner), while Yishmael’s relationship to Avrohom was on the outside only….
Class Seventeen.
Likutei Sichos vol. 20 108 ff. Aisav is Yitzchok’s son and as he is in Yitzchok, he and Yaakov are just two versions of avodas Hashem, one that is like a Chossid and the other one who overcomes his Yetzer HaRa. Aisav just made bad choices.
Class Eighteen.
Likutei Sichos vol. 01 page 63 ff. Vol. 3 page 787 ff. Yaakov was the most successful of the Avos, as all his children were Tzadikim and he had them in Golus.
Class Nineteen.

Likutei Sichos vol. 25 Page 168 ff. The return of Yaakov to Eretz Yisroel found him whole, not only according to the promises Hashem gave him, but that he didn’t even suffer (in a lasting way) for the Avoda sacrifices he needed to make in Golus.
Class Twenty Four.
Likutei Sichos vol. 35 page 150-155. Dina’s leaving home ended in disaster, but that does not mean that what she intended on doing was wrong. She was social like her mother and that was very good. It allowed the two of them to influence others to be better people.
Class Twenty Five.
Likutei Sichos vol. 15 page 310 ff. Ya’akov wanted Shlava (serenity) but to get it he had to go through much more hardship, but in the end he got what he wanted.
